Summary
Presently founder Jimmy Wales is main face of wikimedia foundation. Other members who are getting elected may get easy access among developed contries and where there is already lot of support but where still support is still to come, In areas where wikis are not fully reached and explored hiring and conducting visits of international Football/Tenis/Cricket players,

Should we restrict this to celebrities who have also become part of the community, and therefore know of what they speak?
Potential Costs
Reputational damage if we fall out with our ambassador, or they do something which brings us into disrepute.
Loss of confidence and fall in donations if our funders feel we are using their donations to pay for celebrity endorsements.
