Summary
A number of countries have proposals for taxing internet access or blank media to compensate publishers for supposed losses due to copying.
As one of the most widely read publishers on the internet it is possible that the wikipedia projects could qualify for a share of this money.
Proposal
Track proposals for internet levies as the are proposed in different countries. Monitor the qualification rules and register for compensation where we might qualify.
Review existing WP:Private copying levy rules to see if we can qualify under any of the existing schemes.
Motivation
Money!
Also to make the point that free culture works are copyright works just like the products of the film, music and book publishing industry and deserve to share in any special privileges.
