Summary
Recognize that Wikipedia is more than an encyclopedia and fork it in a "knowledge base" and an "general encyclopedia" or a set of thematic ones.
Proposal
Wikipedia is defined as a "Free Encyclopedia", but in internet is more useful as a knowledge base.
Solution: Fork in
- A Knowledge base (drafts, and any content useful to anyone ) {a place for Inclusionists}
- A General encyclopedia (selection of useful relevant articles)
- Thematic and local Encyclopedias
Motivation
End the useless neverending debate between inclusionist and deletionist.
Inclusionist: Want to make an useful "knowledge base". Deletionist: Want to build an "encyclopedia"(selection of useful relevant articles)
Key Questions
Can this be done simply by having two views of the same database? One everything, the other only articles classified as encyclopaedic and of a certain quality.
