Proposal talk:Easier Editing
I think the new beta takes care of this. --78.134.158.106 13:02, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- The concern over ease of editing is well known and recognized. Subsidized with a specific grant a usability initiative has started. Please have a look there. Dedalus 14:10, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
I just suggested, on the usability prototype talk page, making "Save Page", "Show Preview" and "Show Changes" buttons (plus a "Show Code") as a tabs near the edit toolbar; "Show Preview" switches to a Preview view of your changes. If the Preview itself was editable, it would make changes easier for newbies, while preserving the traditional edit-box code view for experienced editors. Does anyone, including the original proposer, object if I hijack this page rather than start yet another nearly-identical proposal? -- 203.171.199.183 (PaulxSA) 08:31, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Keep It Super Simple. 82.95.246.138 21:10, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Word?
Whether Microsoft Word is an application that is easy to use will depend on what one is used to and what one wants to do. Personally I regard Microsoft Word as an evil to be endured. I have long since accepted that when using Microsoft Word a lot of time has to be spent fighting the application. Half the things I want to do with text I cannot do in Word. So as far as I am concerned: please don't make Wikipedia more like Word. - Brya 16:26, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with Brya. But I think can be useful for someone to have a new interface Word-like.
- Can be useful for users to "switch" among the two interfaces (wiki and Word-like) simply clicking an icon. --Aushulz 01:59, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Impact?
Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 00:08, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
