Media should be hosted

Perhaps you could have a whitelist of sites that are allowed to have their content displayed. I do not think that the internet archive will be appropriate, due to too little free content. I think that wikimedia should be hosting the content as that is a setp in making it available, less dependent on the other source site. Impact?

Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 00:09, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

There will be some impact on non-editors, because the probability that files will disappear will increase. Searching files will be getting more difficult for editors, because there will be more than one "commons" to look into. --Goldzahn 08:43, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
