Proposal talk:New Software for new strategies

Latest comment: 14 years ago by Gnar in topic Sorry for the confusions

I agree 100% with that. While the internet is evolving at full speed, MediaWiki is becoming less and less usable. And as the number of articles is increasing, the amount of monitoring and maintenance to ensure a quality encyclopedia is exploding exponentially, and MediaWiki just doesn't represent the best framework for maintaining such a huge content warehouse, it just isn't scaling good (beside turnarounds, like extensions and bots). Thus, the Wikimedia Foundation should set a budget for the total revamping of Wikipedia. 212.98.136.42 12:36, 14 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I understand the aim, but not the proposal: is it related to Proposal:WYSIWYG default editor? Nemo 00:14, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Page title isn't specific

I am confused by the page title - I thought it would be something similar to proposal:integrated educational experience in which we integrate Mediawiki with other currently available (or not) technologies to improve educational experience or even to build edcuational structure.

Do you mean improving markups and technology for maintaining wikimedia sites? Hillgentleman 00:58, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Impact?

Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 00:14, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the confusions

My proposal it to rewrite mediawiki to embrace new standards be easer to use without having to set up a gui like tinymce

End user wise for editers/user Might need to learn new markup or maby keep a old world markup option? Expanded profile options? Open id support? More socal things?

End user for admins Maby have better profile controll along with protection stuff?

End user for viewers(and guets)

Most liekly no change apart from layout
