Impact?

Some proposals will have massive impact on end-users, including non-editors. Some will have minimal impact. What will be the impact of this proposal on our end-users? -- Philippe 01:12, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

rethink lists

I can see the advantage of being able to do if then else queries on categories - searching for everyone in any of these three categories who is also in this fourth category but not in this fifth. I also see the advantages of lists, lists allow you to include more information than you get in a category. A category merely indicates if something is in that category, a list might have several other variables. I would like to broaden this proposal to include sufficient complication to turn lists into categories, by allowing for optional fields to be added to a category, so that many lists could then be turned into categories, and many categories could be displayed as lists.
