I agree that we shouldn't try and reinvent the wheel. Let's look at what other organizations are doing.
And in some places on some wikis some of the more traditional volunteer rewards and recognition have been utilized well already. Many of these can expanded to reach more people. FloNight 17:54, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

- I like this proposal a lot too. I'm pretty sure that a lot of people are leaving because Wikipedia eventually becomes grueling and unrewarding. This is arguably the best proposal I've seen in this area. It's flagged in my favorites. Randomran 04:28, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- I suggest adding a simple (almost free) activity to the ideas list - every quarter or so post Thank you Banners on the sites. Nothing to do with funding, just thank you for contributing message Marlita 21:52, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
