This sounds like a WikiSource SubProject. Why would a WikiLays be needed? --MarianoC 21:49, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- It isn't needed, Laws are already identified as one of the things we want loaded on wikiSource. I've categorised this as done, does anyone object if I rename it accordingly? WereSpielChequers 22:13, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- I've taken the done category off as a result of an email from the author. But the proposal needs fleshing out to show how it goes beyond what we can now do. WereSpielChequers 09:04, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- The best example is wikisource:United States Code/Title 17 (notice the amendment history, containing related documents), Wikisource:Copyright law, and Wikisource:United States copyright case law.
- I think this proposal is a grand idea and could be a self-sustaining project, however people interested in building this should set up a project on meta and coordinate building the foundations: add the laws to Wikisource, describe them on Wikipedia, create Wikibooks, etc. If you build a functional niche community within the Wikimedia community, a separate project could be spawned.

Sounds cool to me
In other words, you can look up all the laws of the Greek and Roman Empires in addition to the future hypothetical laws of a United States of Europe/Africa/Asia/North America? That would be awesome to see how laws will progress in another 45 years or so. GVnayR 20:17, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
