A new set of featured proposals is needed
I just looked at one of the top "featured proposals", to "allow image rating for Commons", and it is only a skeleton, with many details left out. It's barely been worked on since October 2009 when it was featured and has received two positive comments. Putting proposals like this up at the top makes this process look more haphazard than I think it really is. Wnt 17:20, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
That's a fair point. The ranking is based on backlinks. I checked to see why it was rated so highly, and apparently, it was the Featured Proposal when several Main Pages ended up getting translated. If we screen out translations, this should fix the rankings. I experimented with that and got the list at Proposals by number of inbound links, which I think is a much better assessment of ranking.
I'll talk to Werdna to see if he can fix this for us.
I think there are some good ideas in the form of proposals by number of inbound links I reckon it would be fantastic if some of these could be become a permanent part of the Cyber-land on Wikipedia with some Wiki:love and elbow grease from the fried chicken given in a gesture of Wiki:love this could become a possibility.
