Wikimedia-pedia
As a starting point, many of the Fact base pages need to be renamed. In particular:
- The "Reach/", "Quality/", and "Participation/" prefixes from most pages should be removed. We should be using categories, not title prefixes, especially since some of these pages fall into multiple categories.
- Some of the pages should be broken out into multiple pages.
- The appropriate links should be updated.
The goal here is to break out the information into smaller chunks and make the titles friendlier so that they are easier to find and link to. Once we do this, we can take a pass at creating a landing page to all of this information.
As an example, I just did the following:
- Split Reach/Wikimedia users into Wikimedia penetration and Wikimedia reader demographics. Note that the new titles don't have the prefixes and are slightly less ambiguous (is a "user" a reader, a contributor, or both?).
- Categorized both new pages under Category:Reach.
- Updated the appropriate links and translation pages.
- Deleted Reach/Wikimedia users.
The ultimate goal is to create a Wikimedia-pedia -- an encyclopedia of Wikimedia. Please help! This will really help make it easier to find and link to some of the great information on this wiki. Thanks!
I restored Reach/Wikimedia users for historical reason, to be able to compare old and new and reuse the alrady translations to other languages. I created a template Template:historical and applied it to it.
Thanks, HenkvD. I'll use Template:historical from now on.
