Mietchen

I am Daniel Mietchen, a biophysicist and open scientist. Wikiwise, I am mostly active on Citizendium but also occasionally on OpenWetWare, Wikipedias (mainly the English, German, French and Russian chapters) and Wikiversities (English and German).

My wish for Wikipedia is that it provides mechanisms by which expertise can be harvested to improve the quality of articles and to avoid deterioration once a good level has been achieved. Projects like Citizendium, Scholarpedia and Encyclopedia of Earth are honest attempts in this direction but so far, they failed to attract broader communities of contributors, so I am interested to see whether there is room for productive wiki communities with expertise-related policies somewhere midway between the current ones of the English Wikipedia and of these scholarly inclined alternatives. I am also interested in ways to integrate original research into an encyclopedic context.
