Cat removal

Hi -

I removed a couple of categories that you added. One, Proposals for the future, seems odd to me... these are all proposals for the future. We wouldn't be proposing for the past...? I think we have categories for almost everything now; let's try and work within those as much as possible, please. -- Philippe 02:37, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

:I do not agree with you. The category that you added in was not accurate. And I couldn't find one that is suitable. And I do not see any inherent reason, other than sysop-convenience, for you to limit the number of categories when there is a proposal that falls outside your scope. If your suggestion is to create a new project with wiki at its core, using Proposals for new projects. If your suggestion is to add features to an existing project, use the other category. I don't see how it doesn't fit one or the other? If there's a genuine need for another, I'm open to it, but I'd really like to see the need demonstrated before we start to have a bunch of categories with a single item in them... -- Philippe 02:44, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I beg your pardon. It is in a subcategory that I didn't look into. Regards, Hillgentleman 02:46, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
No harm done, I'm pleased that you found a solution. -- Philippe 02:52, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rethinking brands

Hill, thanks for noting about a discussion on foundation-l a couple of years ago. I've found the thread, and included a link to Erik Moeller's original post in the references section of the proposal. For the record, I wasn't aware of that particular discussion thread, haven't read it then, and consequently didn't participate then in that discussion. Reading Erik's post now there are some differences in what he proposed then and what I propose now. So, now that I'm here, could you provide a link to your favorite proposal to expand reach?
